13 district chiefs in Taichung Daya District were re-elected, 2 new people ran for election, and a total of 15 people registered to show unity

Three months before the nine-in-one general election at the end of the year, 13 current mayors of Daya District in Taichung City are seeking re-election, and 2 newcomers are running for the elections in Liubaoli and Shangyali. A total of 15 candidates, accompanied by legislator Yang Qiong-ying and city councilors Wu Chengxian and Wu Jiande, went to the Daya District Office to complete candidate registration this afternoon (3rd). 15 people appeared together to show their unity.

The 13 district chiefs seeking re-election include Liao Xianbin, chief of Sanhe District, Lin Yimu, chief of Zhongyi District, Zhang Shenghe, chief of Hengshan District, Cai Jintang, chief of Xiushan District, Deng Zhaotang, chief of Shangfeng District, Li Lingzhen, chief of Dayali District, Zhang Benyi, chief of Yuanlin District, and Chen Ming, chief of Erhe District. Village and Sidili chief Lu Qixun, Xibaoli chief Liu Xiaomin, Wenya neighborhood Liu Yiming, Dafeng neighborhood Cai Jiedi and Yafeng neighborhood Zhang Dongkai; there are also two newcomers running for election, Xiao Chengmeng is running for Liubaoli chief and Li Guolong is running for Shangyali chief.

Liao Xianbin, who is also the president of the Daya District District Chiefs Association, pointed out that the 13 current district chiefs registered to run together this time. In addition to showing grassroots unity, he also wished the current district chiefs a successful re-election and the two newcomers were elected with high votes.

City Councilor Wu Chengxian said that the district chief is the lowest-level elected official in the local area and has the most direct contact with the people. Whether it is public complaints, local construction or emergencies, the district chief is often at the forefront at the first time. He affirmed that the 13 current district chiefs have been deeply involved in the local area and devoted themselves to grassroots services. He also welcomed new candidates to join the campaign and put forward their ideas and vision for local development through the election. He wished all candidates to be elected with high votes.

City Councilor Wu Jiande said that Daya’s population has continued to grow in recent years. In the future, issues including transportation, roads, drainage, environment and living functions will require the cooperation of the central government, the city government and grassroots mayors.

Yang Qiongying said that in the future, she will continue to work with city councilors and district chiefs to strive for more construction and various benefits for Daya.
