Open letter to Crown Princess Victoria:

On September 13, Sweden will go to the polls. Voter turnout is an important gauge of how our democracy is doing. The threat to democracy feels tangible to many of us.

A declining voter turnout would certainly be met with positive reactions from hostile foreign powers. In these times, it is therefore especially important that as many people as possible make use of their democratic right or why not say obligation to go to the polls and vote.

In the last election, 62,833 people chose to vote blank in the parliamentary election. All honor to those who chose to protect our democracy and contribute to a high voter turnout even though they did not want to support any specific party.

We have understood that you, and also your family, did not use your right to vote in the last elections. Why?

Not going and voting is not being politically neutral, on the contrary, it is an active stance. But for what? It can be perceived as an active stance against democracy and the universal right to vote.

Our question to Crown Princess Victoria is: How do you contribute to honoring and protecting our universal right to vote?

Our simple appeal to everyone who protects Sweden and democracy is to go and vote on September 13.
