“In accordance with Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which qualifies the act as murder, that is, intentionally causing the death of another person, and does not contain aggravating circumstances, the maximum penalty is imprisonment for a term of up to fifteen years with a possible restriction of freedom for a term of up to two years or without it,” the lawyer said.

The woman disappeared on July 17 after going for a walk with her dog in the Romashkovo residential complex. A few days later, on July 22, the dog was found in the village of Romashkovo, and on July 29, the Moscow region headquarters of the Investigative Committee reported that the missing dog was found dead in the forest in Odintsovo. Law enforcement agencies previously told RIA Novosti that her partner, who left the country and was put on the wanted list, was suspected of murder. Later, the court arrested him in absentia.
