Fraud operation in 15 provinces: 244 suspects caught

NEWS CENTER - Within the scope of the work carried out in coordination with the Public Order Department of the General Directorate of Security, MASAK and the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, operations were organized in 15 provinces by the Public Order Branch Directorates of the Provincial Police Departments.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs shared the following details about the operation;

"During the operations carried out by our Police against qualified fraud crimes in 15 provinces, 244 suspects who were found to have defrauded our citizens of 523 million TL were caught. 174 of the suspects were arrested. Judicial control provisions were implemented for 54 of them. The transactions of the others are continuing. In addition, based on MASAK reports, it was determined that the suspects had a transaction volume of 10 billion 500 million TL in their accounts.

As a result of the work carried out by the Public Order Branch Directorates of the Provincial Police Departments, under the coordination of the Public Order Department of the General Directorate of Security, MASAK and the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that the suspects, who were caught in the operations carried out in 15 provinces, were defrauding our citizens by placing advertisements for the sale of vehicles, houses, spare parts and renting vehicles on social media and fake websites, by introducing themselves as public officials or bank officials, and by introducing themselves as representatives of internet/communication companies, with the promise of high earnings.

We continue our fight with determination against criminal networks and illegal structures that make unfair profits by victimizing our citizens, and we do not tolerate criminals.
