The second phase of the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site officially launched joint training and plans to have the ability to perform missions by the end of the year

China News Service, Hainan Wenchang, September 29 (Reporter Fu Yuqun) The second phase of the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site project officially launched joint training on the 29th. The project has two general-purpose medium-sized liquid launch stations, which can provide launch services for two-stage rockets with a diameter of less than 5 meters such as Long March 12B. After subsequent joint training and testing, the two launch stations are scheduled to be capable of performing missions by the end of this year.

The Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site Users Conference and the launching ceremony of the second-phase project joint training were held in Wenchang.

The second phase of the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site project started construction on January 25, 2025, covering an area of ​​more than 1,100 acres. The main construction of the project was completed in 612 days, and it is officially capable of joint training today. With the gradual completion of the second phase of the project, the measurement and control system and the maritime recovery system, the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site will have a comprehensive launch capability of more than 60 times per year, forming a closed loop of "launch-measurement and control-recovery" capabilities.

Yang Tianliang, chairman of Hainan International Commercial Space Launch Co., Ltd., said that so far, Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site has successfully completed 23 launch missions. At present, the second phase of the project has been basically completed and has entered the stage of joint training of the whole system. After being fully put into operation, it will form a coordinated operation pattern of four medium and large liquid launch stations, significantly improving the mission undertaking capacity and injecting strong impetus into Hainan's commercial aerospace development.

On the same day, the "Star Arrow Field Industry Collaborative Innovation Alliance" was officially established at the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site User Conference and the Launching Ceremony of the Second Phase Project Joint Training. The alliance aims to focus on the integrated application of the commercial aerospace "Star Arrow Field" and promote the development of collaborative innovation in the industry. Hainan International Commercial Space Launch Co., Ltd. signed cooperation agreements with 19 rocket and satellite companies, covering many key areas such as future launch missions and technical cooperation.
