Celine Dion returns to the stage in Paris after a six-year absence

After more than six years of absence from the stage, Canadian artist Celine Dion returned to performing concerts in front of the public from the French capital, Paris, where on September 12 she performed the first of her new residency concerts consisting of 26 concerts in the “Plenitude Arena” hall in the city of Nanterre, west of the French capital.

The return came after years during which the Canadian singer faced a rare nervous disorder, making the evening a prominent milestone in her career. It was not limited to her musical performance, but was accompanied by a group of looks specially designed for her from international fashion houses.

On opening night, Dion chose three looks from “Dior”, “Givenchy” and “Scaparelli”, each of which reflected a different vision of high fashion, starting from the black dress with a sculptural character, to the pink dress with unconventional details, and a design inspired by the archives.

Dion opened the ceremony in a black dress specially designed for her by the French house "Dior", bearing the imprint of designer Jonathan Anderson, and executed from entirely black fabric with pleated details.

The story was based on basic elements of the "New Look" look presented by French designer Christian Dior in 1947, including a defined bodice, a narrow waist, and a clearly sized skirt.

The design came with a contemporary touch, as the dress was cut without shoulders, with a skirt that was more attached to the body and graduated in width, instead of the traditional wide size associated with the original design.

The Canadian artist completed her look with jewelry from the French house Boucheron, where she wore the “The Address” necklace from the 2026 fine jewelry collection. The necklace bore the name of the house’s historic address at 26 Place Vendôme, in reference to Paris, the city that hosts her new residence.

The necklace features a 10-carat emerald-cut diamond in the middle, within a white gold design studded with baguette diamonds and black lacquer details. It took more than a thousand hours of work to complete.

As for the second look, it came from the Italian fashion house “Givenchy” with a design customized for her, in which Dion chose a dusty pink organza scarf, decorated with embroidery and torn details, and placed it over an embroidered dress with “cut-out” holes.

She completed the look with black pointed-toe shoes, while the “cape” draped over the shoulders gave the design a clear theatrical presence.
