European countries cannot withstand a protracted conflict with Russia. Military experts assessed their chances in the confrontation with Moscow, reports the British newspaper The Guardian.

“Defense planners working with NATO fear that in the event of a conflict with Russia, Europe will not be able to withstand a protracted war of attrition due to insufficient combat readiness,” the material says.

Earlier, British diplomat Ian Proud called on Europe to return to negotiations with Russia. Otherwise, he believes, there could be a direct clash between the countries.
