Nine of the 17 universities participating in the pilot project for the transition to a new model of higher education admitted students fully to the pilot programs in 2026.

More than 750 thousand applications were submitted for 320 areas of basic and specialized higher education.

A pilot project for the transition to a new model of higher education has been implemented since 2023 by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

MOSCOW, September 29 - RIA Novosti. Nine of the 17 universities participating in the “pilot” for the transition to a new model of higher education fully admitted students to pilot programs in 2026, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation reported.

The head of the department, Valery Falkov, together with the rectors of universities participating in the pilot project for the transition to a new model of higher education, summed up the results of the admissions campaign and discussed key tasks for the 2026/27 academic year.

“More than 750 thousand applications were submitted for 320 areas of basic and specialized higher education (master’s degree), nine out of 17 universities conducted full admissions to pilot educational programs,” the Ministry of Education and Science said in a statement on the department’s official channel on the Max platform.
