Taebaek City invests 17.5 billion won to complete construction of ‘Clean Plateau Sports Center’, a multi-purpose indoor gym next month

Taebaek City's 'Clean Plateau Sports Center', which is being built to revitalize daily sports and attract sports competitions and field training teams, will be completed next month.

Taebaek City announced on the 25th that the clean plateau sports center being built near plateau gymnasium in Mungok-dong is 93% complete and is in the final stages of construction.

This sports center is an indoor sports facility being built with a total floor area of ​​3,477 m2, from 1 underground floor to 2 above-ground floors, with a total project cost of 17.5 billion won.

Construction began in April last year, and architectural, civil engineering, and interior finishing work are currently in progress.

On the first and second floors above ground, there will be a multipurpose stadium that can be used for professional and recreational sports, as well as offices, instructor rooms, and restrooms.

The city expects that when the sports center opens, it will not only expand indoor sports space for citizens, but also strengthen the foundation for hosting various sports competitions and attracting field training teams.

In particular, Taebaek City's policy is to integrate recreational sports and professional sports functions in connection with existing sports facilities in the Mungok Sodo-dong area.

In this area, in addition to the Clean Plateau Sports Center, there are plans to gradually expand sports facilities such as the Air Dome, a four-season multi-purpose training facility, bowling stadium, and Taebaek Hue Training Center.

Mayor Lee Sang-ho said, "The sports center is a sports infrastructure that improves the sports environment for citizens and supports the attraction of various competitions and training camps. We will make the Mungok Sodo-dong area a base for the sports city of Taebaek."
