Drug-driving man was arrested three times and detained, fined more than NT$180,000

A drug-driving man named Shao (48 years old) was arrested three times. He failed to use the turn signal as required and was swaying unsteadily along the way. He was passing by the intersection of Boai 1st Road and Longde Road and was stopped by the Gushan police for inspection. The drug test showed a positive result. It was found that he had been arrested for drug-driving for the third time. The Kaohsiung District Court also ruled that he should be detained.

Gushan Branch pointed out today (22nd) that when officers from the Longhua Police Station were performing patrol duties recently, they stopped and checked a man surnamed Shao (48 years old) who was riding a shaky bicycle and violating regulations, and found amphetamine drugs on the spot.

When Shao Nan's deeds were exposed, he felt deeply regretful at the scene and said that he should not take chances. After a police inquiry, the whole case was transferred to investigation in accordance with the law and was detained by the Kaohsiung District Court.

After investigation, when Shao Nan was traveling through the Longde section of the road, it was discovered that the motorcycle he was riding did not use the turn signal as required and was unstable along the way, so a traffic inspection was conducted on him at the intersection of Boai 1st Road and Longde Road.

During the investigation, the police found that Shao Nan was in possession of amphetamines, and a rapid saliva drug test showed positive results. Shao Nan knew that he would not be able to escape the law. Faced with police law enforcement, Shao Nan showed extreme regret. Not only did he apologize frequently, the police arrested him on the spot and he was detained by the court.

Shao Nan also violated the provisions of Article 35, Item 3 of the Road Traffic Management Penalty Regulations for failing to use the turn signal as required and driving under the influence of drugs again within ten years. He could be fined up to NT$183,600. The police issued a report in accordance with the law.
