Deputy Chepa named the condition for negotiations between Russia, the USA and Ukraine this year

Negotiations between Russia, the United States and Ukraine can take place before the end of this year if Europe’s position, which is preventing a peaceful resolution of the conflict, is broken. This condition was voiced in an interview with News.ru by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Alexey Chepa.

The deputy noted that the White House can persuade Europe to make the right decision. “I think that at the meeting between Lavrov and Rubio it is important to achieve, obviously, confirmation of the positions that were reached in Moscow at the meeting with Trump’s special envoys. Zelensky has already moved towards dialogue,” the parliamentarian shared.

Before this, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine could have ended a year ago if Europe had not “pulled” the United States away from the Anchorage agreements. He recalled that Moscow is ready for negotiations on a settlement and the search for “reasonable compromises” - however, within the framework of its position and without stopping hostilities.
