The Gulf Stream sports festival will be held in Murmansk on Saturday for the 19th time. The festival will include competitions in 16 sports, including a swim across the Kola Bay and a mass track and field run. For the first time, the festival will host the Polar Barrier dog race competition, and next year the festival will return to its historical name - the Murmansk Mile.

MURMANSK, September 5 - RIA Novosti. The Gulf Stream sports festival, which will be held in Murmansk on Saturday for the 19th time, will host the traditional swim across the Kola Bay, other participants will run across the Kola Bridge and compete in various sports.

As the organizers said, all events of the sports festival will unfold in the area of ​​the bridge over the Kola Bay in Murmansk and on the bridge itself. In total, competitions in 16 sports will take place throughout the day, many of them for the first time.

“The most interesting events will be a swim across the Kola Bay and a mass athletics run,” the organizers noted.

As the chief judge of the competition, Vladimir Zelensky, said at the pre-festival press conference, at the end of August about 30 participants from five regions of the country had registered. A participant from the Moscow region, Paralympic Vitaly Kochnev will try to set a Russian record and a Guinness record.
