19-year-old motorcyclist dies in an accident on the B26 near Eltmann

A 19-year-old motorcyclist died in an accident near Eltmann. He collided with a car on the B26 in the Haßberge district and died from his injuries at the scene of the accident, the police announced in the evening.

The motorcyclist was traveling from Ebelsbach towards Eltmann on Saturday afternoon. At the entrance to the A70, a 47-year-old driver wanted to drive onto the motorway. According to previous findings, he overlooked the oncoming motorcyclist and crossed his lane.

Despite immediate resuscitation measures, the 19-year-old died. The driver remained uninjured. The material damage amounts to several thousand euros.

Expert should clarify accident

The police are investigating the cause of the accident. An expert was called in on the orders of the public prosecutor. Fire brigades, THW, rescue services and a rescue helicopter were in action. The route remained closed on Saturday evening.
