The Egyptian President sends a strong political message from Cairo about relations with Saudi Arabia

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the President congratulated the Saudi Crown Prince on the occasion of the approaching Saudi National Day, expressing his wishes for continued stability and prosperity for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesman, indicated that the call dealt with the overall bilateral relations between the two countries, as the President stressed the importance of continuing to advance and enhance various aspects of bilateral cooperation, in a way that achieves common interests and meets the aspirations of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples towards development, prosperity, and improving conditions in the region.

The official spokesman stated that the President also stressed the unity of destiny between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, stressing the importance of joint work in order to overcome the challenges facing the region and its countries, and stressing that the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and other Arab countries, is an extension of Egyptian national security.

The official spokesman added that the Saudi Crown Prince affirmed his appreciation for the progress witnessed in relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, praising the close coordination existing between the two countries to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East region and meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples towards progress and prosperity, stressing the importance of intensifying coordination between the two countries in various fields, including the exchange of high-level visits.

The official spokesman explained that the call also addressed a number of regional and international issues, as the need to reduce the current regional escalation was emphasized in order to preserve peace and stability in the region, and in view of the repercussions of the current tension on energy security, supply chains, and regional and international trade.
