Iranian Foreign Ministry responded to Pentagon chief's threats to hit oil tankers

Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth previously said that the US military could hit all Iranian oil tankers in response to attacks on its ships.

“You see, for a country that calls itself the greatest superpower in history to resort to such threats, to resort to attacks on merchant ships in retaliation for what they themselves admitted to, in reality, does not do any honor,” Bagai said during the briefing.

In addition, the speaker of the parliament of the Islamic Republic and the head of the Iranian negotiating group on the conflict with the United States, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, responded to Hegseth’s statements. On social network X, he said that if the United States strikes Iranian assets, Tehran will retaliate against oil and gas companies in the Middle East associated with the United States.
