Putin invited Pashinyan to Moscow to discuss the referendum in Armenia

Russian President Vladimir Putin invited Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan to Moscow at a meeting in Bishkek.

The Prime Minister of Armenia accepted Putin's invitation and said that he would soon arrive in Moscow.

The leaders of the two countries discussed the need to organize a referendum in Armenia at the SCO summit in Bishkek.

MOSCOW, September 7 - RIA Novosti. At a meeting in Bishkek, Russian President Vladimir Putin invited Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Moscow, the Armenian Prime Minister accepted this invitation, said Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.

Earlier, Peskov told RIA Novosti that Pashinyan’s visit to Russia could take place in the near future, but the exact dates have not yet been determined.

“In order to discuss everything as a whole (topics of concern, including the referendum in Armenia - ed.), it was Putin who invited Pashinyan to Moscow. And Pashinyan accepted this invitation. And he said that he would come soon,” Peskov told reporters.

Putin earlier held talks with Pashinyan on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Bishkek. During the meeting, the leaders discussed the need to organize a referendum in Armenia to close the topic of the republic’s membership in the EAEU or joining the European Union.
