Excavations at the Stone Age site "Ust-Bazaikha-2" are coming to an end in Krasnoyarsk

On the right bank of Krasnoyarsk, excavations at the Stone Age site “Ust-Bazaikha-2” are coming to an end. More than 17 thousand archaeological artifacts were found, writes KRSK.KP.RU.

Over two seasons, scientists examined about three thousand square meters of cultural layer belonging to the Late Paleolithic and Neolithic eras. Among the most valuable historical finds were stone, wooden and bone tools, ceramics, as well as various jewelry.

“[One of the found decorations] is made of flat pebbles: a hole is made on the narrow edge, and notches are made along the perimeter with a stone chisel. The item was found as part of a treasure hidden under a large stone, which indicates its special aesthetic and status value for the owner,” Tatyana Korneva, candidate of historical sciences and employee of the Institute of the History of Material Culture, shared the details.

The results of the excavations once again proved the uniqueness of the region. Krasnoyarsk actually stands on archaeological monuments of the Stone Age, so from the 19th century to this day, the study of its territories has brought phenomenal results.
