GLONASS accuracy will increase to 2.8 meters by 2027

In 2027, the accuracy of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) will increase from 8 meters to 2.8 meters. This was announced by the general director of the Roscosmos state corporation Dmitry Bakanov.

“The technological appearance of the new generation of the GLONASS constellation is being formed, which will allow the development of navigation technologies and increase the stability and reliability of the system,” said the head at a meeting organized by the head of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov, on the implementation of the national project and plans for the development of the space industry.

In February, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian Tornado-S multiple launch rocket system was equipped with GLONASS to launch more accurate strikes on positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkov region.
