The 3rd Keelung City Chairman’s Cup National Go Open was held today (8th) at the gymnasium of Renai Elementary School in Keelung City. Children from Keelung City, New Taipei City, Taipei City, Taoyuan City, and Yilan City signed up to participate. Keelung City Council Speaker Tong Ziwei, who is also the chairman of the Keelung City Sports Association Go Committee, said in his speech that Go is an activity suitable for those aged 2 to 92 to participate in, cultivating patience, training and thinking, and hopes to gradually promote it to school clubs at all levels in the future.

The Keelung City Chairman’s Cup National Go Open is held at Renai Elementary School. The competition is from 9 a.m. to noon. The competitions include six-dan group, seven-dan group, five-dan group, four-dan group, three-dan group, two-dan group, preliminary group, group A, group B, group C, and group D. Group, Group E, and Novice Group, there will also be a food garden party, special meals, snacks and drinks, charity massage, visually impaired experience, charity scissors, eye protection experience, fighting tops, tarot cards, cultural and creative bracelets, drone football experience, etc.

Tong Ziwei pointed out that since he took over as the chairman of the Go Committee, more and more people have participated in Go activities. Go is not only a game of chess, it can cultivate patience, train thinking and brain development. It is an activity suitable for people aged 2 to 92. He continues to vigorously promote the game to make Go popular. He hopes to gradually promote it to school clubs at all levels in the future to allow children to participate; now there are special classes to promote Go, with the goal of learning from Daan Junior High School in Taipei City, so that Keelung can also have such a good environment for playing Go.

Tong Ziwei also did not forget to market Keelung’s food and beautiful scenery of mountains and seas. Tong Ziwei said that for this event, he would like to thank parents and children from other counties and cities for coming to Keelung to compete. There are charity activities and food outside the venue. He hopes that everyone can participate in the charity and wishes that every contestant can learn from the experience of participating in the competition.
