The Chinese sports delegation for the 20th Asian Games was established and 96 people from Guangdong were selected

Among the 96 members of Guangdong's Chinese sports delegation selected for this Asian Games, there are 82 athletes and 14 sports team staff such as coaches and scientists.

It is understood that athletes from Guangdong account for about 10% of the total number of athletes in the delegation. They will compete in 24 major events, 31 sub-events, and 74 minor events, including track and field, swimming, diving, etc. The number of participating athletes and the number of events are among the top among all provinces and cities in the country.

The 82 Guangdong athletes on this expedition come from 14 cities in the province, including 53 male athletes and 29 female athletes. The average age of the team is 24 years old. There are Lin Honghao, a 14-year-old skateboarder, and Wu Honghui, a 36-year-old water polo veteran who has competed in three Asian Games. The team has a strong youth background. There are 17 "post-2005" athletes, accounting for 21% of the total number of athletes selected from Guangdong. Among them, there are also 3 "post-10" teenagers who have appeared on the Asian Games stage as fresh blood.

It is reported that among the Guangdong athletes participating in this Asian Games, 33 have Asian Games experience, accounting for 40%; 49 are competing in the Asian Games for the first time, accounting for 60%.
