A Rostov court sentenced a man to 20 years in prison for preparing sabotage

The Rostov regional court sentenced to 20 years in prison a local resident who planned sabotage at a transport infrastructure facility on instructions from the Ukrainian special service, the court's press service reports.

Thus, in January 2024, the defendant began to correspond with representatives of the Ukrainian special services, from whom he received the task of committing “sabotage by damaging transport infrastructure” in the Rostov region. They promised to pay him for this.

To carry out the task in April 2024, the convict studied the area and prepared the instruments for committing the crime. After that, he arrived at the site of the planned sabotage, where he was detained by law enforcement officers.

In addition, in March 2024, the defendant posted on the social network an image of the St. George ribbon with text insulting veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the multinational people of Russia, as well as the memory of the victims suffered in the Great Patriotic War.
