Pyeongchang-gun holds '2026 1st Pyeongchang Green Bioin Night'

Pyeongchang-gun will hold the '2026 1st Pyeongchang Green Bioin Night' at Phoenix Pyeongchang and the Seoul National University Pyeongchang Campus on the 17th and 18th.

The event is hosted by Pyeongchang-gun and co-organized by Seoul National University's Green Bio Science and Technology Research Institute (GBST) and Gangwon Techno Park.

About 100 people from about 40 organizations and companies, including green bio-related companies, universities, research institutes, and support organizations, are expected to participate.

This event is being held to expand cooperation between industry entities in Pyeongchang, the research, start-up, and technology commercialization base of Gangwon Green Bio Industry V Valley.

The purpose is to expand the cooperation between research institutes and companies that have been ongoing individually into a regular industrial network.

It focuses on sharing field demands in the areas of research and development (R&D), verification, technology commercialization, corporate support, and policy and administration, and connecting them with follow-up cooperation.

On the first day, a forum will be held on topics such as high value-added local resources, commercialization of biomaterials, and green biomaterial standardization strategies.

We will also operate a promotional center to share the direction of operation of the Gangwon Pyeongchang Green Bio Venture Campus, which is currently under construction, and to introduce the company's products, technologies, research results, and support projects.

The 'Green Bio Field Demand Roundtable' discusses joint research and demonstration, equipment utilization, technology commercialization, and policy and system improvement tasks.

The county plans to reflect the identified tasks in research and development and corporate support projects, venture campus operation, and new policy projects.

Tasks that require technology commercialization, investment, and partnerships are linked to Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province's 'Intergreen CnA Partnering'.

On the second day, we tour the venture campus construction site and research and support infrastructure at Seoul National University's Pyeongchang Campus.

Pyeongchang County Governor Shim Jae-guk said on the 13th, “We will create a network in Pyeongchang where industrial entities will share field demands and lead to cooperation in research and commercialization.”
