It has also set up new sub-forums such as global governance initiative cyberspace cooperation and theory and policy in the digital intelligence era, making positive contributions to promoting the formation of a more equitable and inclusive global governance system."
The 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit will be held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang from November 2 to 5. At a press conference held on September 29, Ren Xianliang, Secretary-General of the World Internet Conference, introduced this.
Since 2014, the Wuzhen Summit of the World Internet Conference has been held for several consecutive sessions. It always focuses on the cutting-edge trends of Internet development and common concerns in the global digital field, gathering wisdom from all parties and building development consensus.
In recent years, the global wave of intelligence has been surging, which not only breeds unprecedented development opportunities, but also interweaves unpredictable risks and challenges, making the importance of strengthening global artificial intelligence governance collaboration increasingly prominent.
Ren Xianliang said, "The traditional 'digital divide' is accelerating and evolving into a more profound 'intelligent divide'. Open or closed? Open source or closed source? Cooperation or 'decoupling'? The development of digital intelligence technology is at a critical crossroads, and its direction is directly related to the common welfare of all mankind."
Against this background, the theme of this year’s Wuzhen Summit is “Open Source, Openness, Co-construction and Sharing—Joining Hands to Build a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace.” This is not only a positive response to the development trend of digital intelligence, but also a proactive answer to the development proposition of the times. Focusing on this theme, the Wuzhen Summit will bring more highlight activities based on previous years.
For example, following last year's "Six Little Dragons Wuzhen Dialogue", this year's main forum will set up an "Artificial Intelligence Wuzhen Dialogue" session, inviting the world's leading technology companies, heads of well-known open source large model companies, and artificial intelligence scientists to have a dialogue on the same stage to conduct exchanges on topics such as the construction of a global artificial intelligence open source ecosystem. The summit will also launch the "Wuzhen Lecture Hall" and "Wuzhen Talk·Open Source Youth Talk" activities to the public for the first time.
Ren Xianliang said that so far, the Wuzhen Summit has attracted many domestic and foreign participants. High-level representatives from conference member companies such as Qualcomm, AMD, SAP, CTM, Ctrip, and Xiaohongshu have confirmed their participation. During the meeting, dignitaries from many countries will attend and deliver speeches, and a ministerial-level meeting will be held to invite high-level representatives from relevant government departments in various countries to conduct exchanges around topics such as digital intelligence infrastructure construction and cooperation, and digital intelligence technology empowering high-quality economic and social development, to jointly promote the upward development of artificial intelligence.
