China News Service, Dongguan, September 12 (Cheng Jingwei, Lin Yin) The 2026 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Nature Education Forum with the theme of "Bay Area Linkage and Natural Empowerment" was held from 11 to 12 in Songshan Lake, Dongguan City. Participants gathered together to discuss the industrialization development path of nature education and discuss the bright future of ecological civilization construction in the Bay Area.
This forum was jointly sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial Forestry Bureau, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government, and the Macao Municipal Affairs Bureau. The "Guangdong Province Nature Education Report 2025" was released on site, and volunteers from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao read out the "Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Nature Education Coordinated Development Initiative."
The forum invited Professor Lin Zhen, dean of the Institute of Ecological Civilization of Beijing Forestry University, to give a keynote speech, convened nature education industry experts to discuss policy orientation and industry development direction, and organized front-line practitioners to exchange practical experiences. Discussions were held around new directions such as the industrialization development of nature education, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao nature education collaboration mechanism, nature education curriculum design and practice, etc., and output industrial ideas that can be implemented.
The forum simultaneously held a two-day nature education carnival, which brought together more than 50 booths set up by various organizations from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and connected nature education markets, diverse themed exhibition areas, creative art check-in devices, special nature education activity experiences, stage performances and other sections. With a full-time, multi-level immersive experience, nature education can be seen, played, felt and accessible.
Among them, the theme exhibition area presents the achievements of natural education in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in multiple dimensions: the Bay Area Biodiversity Specimen Exhibition uses lifelike animal specimens to reveal the secret of life's survival; the Natural Science Painting Exhibition allows ecological observation and artistic creation to meet here; the Green Beauty Cultural and Creative Exhibition condenses the interest of the mountains and wilderness into small objects; the Lingnan Ancient Tree Story Exhibition tells the legends and humanistic memories behind ancient and famous trees.
At the nature education market, animal specimens and natural science books are on display, and interactive projects such as animal and plant identification, Chinese herbal medicine popularization, and knowledge prize-winning quizzes attract people to participate and experience. Many original themed sitcoms were staged live, bringing nature education to the public in a more vivid way.
The relevant person in charge of the Guangdong Provincial Forestry Bureau said that since the establishment of the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao nature education series activities, it has always focused on deepening the ecological synergy and linkage of the three places, and continued to iterate the form and connotation of the activities.
As a pioneer and demonstration province of nature education in the country, Guangdong has joined hands with Hong Kong and Macao to establish a normalized nature education collaboration mechanism. The three places have been polishing brand activities such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Nature Education Forum, Carnival, Nature Education Season, and Nature Observation Competition for many years, gradually building a cooperation and exchange system of "resource sharing, brand co-shaping, talent cultivation, and development promotion".
Next, Guangdong will focus on promoting the systematic improvement of nature education work in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, focusing on nature education network interconnection, brand matrix and youth cultivation, and upgrading iconic activities such as the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Nature Education Forum and Hengqin Nature Education Week.
