China News Service, Meishan, September 25 (Reporter Liu Zhongjun) On the evening of September 24, the 2026 Sichuan Province "Ten Thousand People Appreciate the Moon and Recite the Mid-Autumn Festival" concentrated performance event was held at the Urban Wetland Park in Dongpo District, Meishan City. With the theme of "Splendid Tianfu·Full Moon on the East Slope", the event follows the context of Sansu culture, stringing together the elegance of poetry and folk customs, and linking online and offline to present the audience with a mass cultural feast that reflects the ancient and modern times and is full of poetry.

Meishan is the place where Su Shi was born and grew up. "Shui Tiao Ge Tou: When Will the Bright Moon Come" has long become a mark of the Mid-Autumn Festival engraved in the hearts of Chinese people. This performance is unique, using the "moon" in Dongpo's poems to reflect the moon of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and using the reading group to connect the thread, the four chapters of "Xijiang Moon·Is My Hometown", "Full Courtyard Fragrance·Haoran Qi", "Standing the Wind·And Traveling Slowly", and "Qing Ping Le·Sharing the Chanjuan" are unfolded in sequence, layer by layer, so that Dongpo's poems and poems from thousands of years ago can once again echo along the banks of the Minjiang River.
The folk performance "Dragon Lantern Dance in Meizhou" started lively, with dragon lanterns and lanterns tumbling along with the noisy gongs and drums, and the atmosphere was instantly ignited. Subsequently, the situational performance "This Heart Is My Hometown", the street dance "Figurines·Easy", the choral dance "One River and One Moon Remembers Dongpo", and the acrobatic "Straw Hat·On the Field of Hope" were performed one after another, integrating Dongpo's broad and gentle feelings of home and country, the rice wave scenery of Tianfu Granary, the scenery of the beautiful Shu land and the high-spirited atmosphere of the times. The performance ended with the situational song and dance "The Road Home", using the moon as a medium to connect the home and country, using the image of the jade rabbit flying to the moon to express the prosperity of the motherland, and also pushing the warmth of Mid-Autumn Festival reunion to its climax.

During the performance, the recitation troupe led the audience to recite Dongpo's famous poems in unison. "When will the bright moon come? Ask the blue sky with wine" "Don't listen to the sound of beating leaves in the forest, why not whistling and walking slowly" "May we live forever and share the beauty of the moon thousands of miles away"... The sound of the book passed through the night, and the stage and the audience resonated with each other, becoming the most touching highlight moment of the night.
Near the main venue, the Sichuan Mid-Autumn Festival Cultural and Creative Market was very popular, with more than 60 booths lined up. Chengdu's Three Cannons, Mianzhu Woodblock New Year Pictures, and Northern Sichuan Puppet all show the diverse charm of Sichuan; booths of Dongpo elbow making techniques, Sansu longan cakes, Qingshen bamboo weaving and other stalls are crowded with people; a batch of Meishan specialty delicacies also attracted citizens and tourists to stop and taste.

Activities such as the "Mysteries under the Moon" lantern show and garden tours and the "Song Rhymes Gathering" life experience "brought" the Mid-Autumn Festival folk customs of the Song Dynasty before their eyes. They ordered tea, made rubbings, and made sachets. Many citizens and tourists also changed into Hanfu to check in immersively. In the special session "Dongpo Shop Tour", actors dressed as Su Dongpo walked around the market and interacted, turning the market into a living map of Sichuan Mid-Autumn Festival scenery.
During the event, Meishan also integrated high-quality cultural tourism resources such as Sansu Temple, Dongpo Water Street, and Toad Yi Mountain, and launched a series of cultural tourism products such as night tour experience, folk interaction, food tasting, etc., to extend the popularity of the event to a wider range.
