Hanwha Group holds 'Hanwha Classic 2026' in Changwon, Geoje, Gyeongnam and Seoul

Hanwha Group announced on the 28th that it will hold a classical performance 'Hanwha Classic 2026' in Changwon, Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do and Seoul in November.

French ensemble 'Le Poem Armonique' will perform at the Changwon 3·15 Art Hall on November 22nd, followed by Geoje Culture and Arts Center on the 24th and Seoul Arts Center on the 26th. This is the first time that the Hanwha Classic, which started in 2013 and is now in its 14th year, is held in Gyeongnam, where Hanwha's core business sites are located.

This is the first performance of Le Poem Armonique, founded in 1998, in Korea. This ensemble, led by conductor Vincent Dumaistre, has been active in the world of early music, focusing on French Baroque and 17th century music.

The performance program ‘Music of the Sun King’ is a collection of French court music from the era of Louis XIV. It reproduces 17th-century French court music using ancient instruments such as theorbo and lirone.

This performance was also selected for the French Embassy in Korea's 'Culture and Arts Program commemorating the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and France.'

Hanwha Classic has invited early music masters and performance groups such as William Christie, Mark Minkowski, and Jordi Sabal to introduce baroque music that is difficult to access in Korea.

A Hanwha Group official said, “It is meaningful to present world-class baroque music to audiences in the Gyeongnam region,” and added, “We will continue cultural and artistic activities with the local community.”
