China News Service, Beijing, August 22 (Reporter Sun Zifa) The 2026 National Finals of the Artificial Intelligence Education and Teaching Achievements Competition in Primary and Secondary Schools, co-sponsored by the China Electronics Society and Beijing Normal University, was successfully held in Tongxiang, Zhejiang Province recently. More than 150 outstanding finalists competed together, fully demonstrating the innovative teaching practices and fruitful results in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) education in primary and secondary schools.
The Artificial Intelligence Education and Teaching Achievements Competition for Primary and Secondary Schools has the theme of “promoting teaching through competition and empowering AI innovation”. Since its launch in April, it has attracted full-time teachers from primary and secondary schools, scientific research and business practitioners, and university normal students across the country to actively participate. After preliminary selection, more than 150 contestants stood out and advanced to the finals. The contestants competed around teaching innovation and used the form of "simulated teaching + on-site Q&A" to demonstrate their teaching practice capabilities.
The national finals use "trial presentation + expert Q&A" as the core assessment form. The individual assessment lasts 20 minutes. Through 15 minutes of on-site teaching and 5 minutes of professional defense, the teacher's teaching design ability, classroom control level and AI professionalism are comprehensively tested.
The contestants include full-time teachers on campus, off-campus teaching and research practitioners, and normal students. The entries closely adhere to the requirements of the curriculum standards and incorporate cutting-edge content such as generative AI applications and AI ethics and safety, presenting a multi-dimensional AI teaching ecosystem.
The competition has a total of 7 review groups, each group is equipped with 3 experts to independently score, and the rules of the whole process are open and transparent. The review team brings together senior competition experts and teaching and research backbones to ensure the professionalism of the review with the dual standards of "technical accuracy + educational science".
It is reported that in order to thoroughly implement the national "artificial intelligence +" action plan and promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence and basic education, the Artificial Intelligence Education and Teaching Achievements Competition in primary and secondary schools has been focusing on the direction of "promoting education through competition and integrating industry and education" since its inception, and gradually accumulated a number of high-quality cases of artificial intelligence basic education that can be replicated and promoted, providing useful reference for promoting the normalization of artificial intelligence education in various places.
