Guangzhou’s 2026 Youth Summer Practice Activity Results Exhibition in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao was held

China News Service, Guangzhou, September 13 (Reporter Zhang Lu) "Vibrant Guangzhou, Wonderful Summer" Guangzhou City's 2026 Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao Youth Summer Practice Activity Results Display (referred to as the "Activity") was held in Guangzhou on the 12th.

It is reported that this summer, the "Vibrant Guangzhou Wonderful Summer" Guangzhou 2026 Youth Summer Practice Activity in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao uses a "1+4+N" system to organize municipal-level demonstration projects, district-specific projects and regular practice supply, focusing on the four major themes of "popular science for a summer", "intangible cultural heritage for a summer", "volunteer for a summer" and "sports for a summer", open to the youth of Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao, paying special attention to the participation of children from new employment groups and other children coming to Guangzhou. Eleven districts in Guangzhou have jointly carried out more than 3,000 practical activities of various types, covering a total of more than 170,000 young people.

"Volunteer for a Summer" red propaganda and convenient services work in both directions. Guangzhou’s primary and secondary school student volunteers are active in red propaganda and other fields, organizing more than 51,000 youth volunteers and serving more than 250,000 hours.

"Science Popularization Summer" science and technology research and venue experience broaden scientific horizons. Focusing on cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, Guangzhou organizes various activities such as science and technology studies to lead young people out of the classroom and into the front lines of science and technology innovation.

"Intangible Cultural Heritage One Summer" traditional cultural experience enhances cultural identity. Relying on the cultural resources of Guangzhou, Guangzhou City carries out intangible cultural heritage experience and other activities to allow young people to inherit the excellent traditional culture of Lingnan through hands-on practice. The "Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao Intangible Heritage Shared Inheritance" experience camp combines digital experience with cultural content such as traditional Chinese medicine.

"Sports for a Summer" event exchanges and outdoor exercises hone the will and quality. The fourth "Nissin Cup" and Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Youth 3-person Basketball Open was held, attracting 144 teams and nearly 550 players.

Youth exchanges between Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao run through the entire process of summer activities. Nansha District’s “Bay Area Togetherness Bridge—Hand-in-Hand Dialogue Camp for Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Teenagers” event recruited 40 teenagers from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao to form four research teams. They went to the Guangdong Aerospace Research Institute and other places to conduct research and collect ideas, and jointly issued a proposal for co-construction of the Bay Area.

Conghua District organized the "Same Roots, Same Heart" Summer Study Study in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao, and invited 39 Hong Kong college students to go to rural primary schools to carry out volunteer teaching, visit the Guangzhou branch of the National Library, and participate in ecological voluntary services and rural revitalization research.

Lin Zihao, a Hong Kong teenager who participated in the "Bay Area Togetherness Bridge - Hand-in-Hand Dialogue Camp for Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Youth" said: "The summer study activities in Guangzhou made me realize more deeply that 'One Family in the Bay Area' is not just a slogan, but is implemented in all aspects."

The relevant person in charge of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League said: "In the next step, Guangzhou will continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation between Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao youths, improve the long-term mechanism for practical education, and transform the summer experience of 'Vibrant Guangzhou, Wonderful Summer' into an evergreen education model all year round. It will lead the majority of Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao youths to broaden their horizons, hone their skills, and make contributions in the era of the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and jointly write a youth chapter in which the youths of the three places work together to build their dreams."
