2026 Guangzhou Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day cultural tourism series launched, more than 2,000 activities will be launched

China News Service, Guangzhou, September 16 (Reporter Cheng Jingwei) The launch ceremony of the 2026 Guangzhou Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day cultural tourism series was held on the 15th at the Lingnan Theater of the Guangzhou Song and Dance Theater.

This year's Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day follow each other, forming a golden window for cultural and tourism consumption with the longest time span and the most concentrated consumption potential throughout the year. Guangzhou is coordinating the 11 districts with a global mindset, linking more than 100 scenic spots and cultural museums, dozens of art troupes and performance spaces. During the double festival, more than 2,000 cultural and tourism activities will be launched, covering cultural and museum exhibitions, intangible cultural heritage, music performances, fashionable entertainment, sports events, scenic area renewal, food experiences, people-friendly consumption and other diverse business formats.

At the launch ceremony, the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism released 20 high-quality itineraries for the "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Tour", covering 11 districts in the city, taking into account the dual needs of local citizens for a "mini-vacation nearby" and foreign tourists for "in-depth check-in".

The route is divided into four major themes: "Humanistic Stroll", "Artistic Fashion", "Family Fun with Children" and "Enjoyment in Green Fields". It traces the origins of Yuexiu Ancient City to Liwan Xiguan Intangible Cultural Heritage, from Huangpu Maritime Silk Road to Panyu Ancient Town Gardens, from Chimelong Happy World to Baiyun Mountain Day and Night Fireworks , it can be a "single-point" slow-tour immersive experience, or it can be flexibly combined in cross-regional series, guiding citizens and tourists to understand the history of the thousand-year-old commercial capital, the cultural heritage charm of Lingnan and the young vitality of the trendy city while walking, providing a clear and practical guide for double festival travel.

During this year’s double holiday, Guangzhou highlights the integrated planning of cultural tourism supply, urban-rural integration, and regional coordination. The event site specially announced the "Travel to Two Mountains Empowering Millions" leading district cultural tourism promotion national challenge. Relying on the "Travel to Two Mountains" smart cultural tourism platform, multiple tracks were set up such as cloud lighting, on-the-spot check-in, video check-in, and youth talent cultivation. Mountain resources, rural scenes, and consumption points in towns and villages such as Conghua and Zengcheng were connected in series to guide citizens and tourists from "seeing scenic spots" to "entering towns and villages, tasting specialties, and seeing new looks."
