The 2026 Taiwan International Children and Youth Carnival has concluded successfully, and Tainan City will take over next year

After a five-day exhibition period, the "2026 Taiwan International Children and Youth Carnival" came to a successful conclusion on the evening of the 27th. Li Jinghui, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, announced that the Children and Youth Carnival will be held by Tainan City next year (2027).

The Ministry of Culture stated that it is the first time to try a children's carnival that combines reading, performing arts and film activities, and looks forward to providing children and teenagers with a diverse and cross-disciplinary artistic experience. A total of 221 domestic and foreign exhibitors from 8 countries participated in this grand event and held it 287 reading promotion activities were held, 115 copyright transactions were held, and 70 creator training sessions were held, with 98 schools, 3,095 students, and 553 teachers participating, including 65 rural schools, 1,881 students, and 393 teachers.

Li Jinghui said that the Children's and Children's Carnival will tour various counties and cities in the future. No matter where it goes, it will be a heartfelt gift and gift to the current, next and future generations of Taiwan. She invites the public to follow the carnival to every city in Taiwan.

At the closing ceremony, Li Jinghui presented a special commemorative gift to France in Taiwan, thanking France for being the theme country this year. France and Publishing Affairs Specialist of France in Taiwan, Coleus, said that France served as the theme country of the "Future Generations Book Fair" this time, and unexpectedly found that the audience's interest in France was higher than originally expected. It is even more enthusiastic. This enthusiasm shows the curiosity and open-mindedness of Kaohsiung citizens, and also reflects everyone’s interest in cultures, imaginary worlds and diverse creations from various countries. We hope that the French Pavilion will not only be a window to French creations, but also become a starting point for more exchanges and cooperation between France and Taiwan.

Tainan City Cultural Director Huang Yaling took over the pick of the host city next year. She said that next year, Tainan's traditional "Being Sixteen" coming-of-age ceremony event will enter its 16th year.
