2026-YKS University Registration Dates and Required Documents Announced

2026-YKS preference procedures were carried out by ÖSYM between 29 July and 10 August 2026. The university registration process will begin after the placement results are announced. The exact calendar regarding registration dates and procedures will be followed through the official announcements of ÖSYM and universities. It is important for candidates to prepare the necessary documents in advance during registration and to check the special conditions in the registration announcement of the university to which they are placed. WHEN WILL 2026 UNIVERSITY REGISTRATIONS BE HELD?

According to the 2026 YKS results, candidates who are entitled to enroll in a program will complete their registration between 24-28 August.

For registration, candidates must apply to the university affiliated with the higher education program they are placed in within the specified period.

WHEN WILL UNIVERSITY E-REGISTRATION BE DONE?

Electronic registrations will be held between 24-26 August 2026.

Students who complete their registration through e-Government will not need to go to university campuses and register physically.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR REGISTRATION

a) The original or certified copy of the diploma received by the candidate from the secondary education institution he graduated from or a recent graduation certificate

b) During the registration process for higher education institutions, if it is determined that the student is registered in another higher education institution in the YÖKSİS database, and if he/she is not enrolled in a formal program at the same level, this information will be confirmed by the higher education institution where he/she was previously registered by registering without the original secondary education diploma.

c) If the candidate is placed by taking advantage of additional points but his/her field is not specified in his diploma or graduation certificate, an official document showing which school and field he graduated from (For those who graduate from METEM programs, the name of the center that issued the diploma is written as the name of the school in their diplomas).

d) 12 photographs of 4.5 cm x 6 cm in size, if requested by higher education institutions.

d) Document regarding the payment of contribution/tuition fee

e) The originals or university-approved copies of other documents to be determined before registration and announced by the university. The military status of those who are placed in a higher education program through YKS can be viewed by the universities on the website http://kamu.turkiye.gov.tr.

Candidates should apply to the military branches for their military service-related problems, and to the university rector's office or the General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories for detailed information about the loan.

The placement results (including disability information) of the candidates placed in higher education programs will be transmitted electronically to the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) by ÖSYM.

WHEN WILL UNIVERSITIES OPEN IN 2026-2027?

Opening dates of universities vary depending on their academic calendars. Universities announce faculty-based course start dates on their official websites or social media accounts.

Looking at the general picture, the 2026-2027 academic year fall semester classes are expected to start in the last week of September and the first week of October.
