The cost of home repairs in Russia is expected to increase in 2027

Home renovations may become more expensive in 2027. The head of the department for complex renovation of residential and commercial premises of Smart Home, Albina Sakaeva, advised Russians not to postpone interior renovation, Izvestia writes.

The specialist recalled that back in 2024, the cost of repair teams’ work reached an average of 8–12 thousand rubles per square meter, and in 2026 the amounts increased to 30–50 thousand rubles per “square.” At the same time, construction materials rose in price by about 23 percent over the same period.

“The cost of repair work is growing faster than the cost of many materials, which means that the main risk for the client is not so much the rise in price of tiles or paint, but the cost of skilled labor, which is in great short supply,” Sakaeva noted.

To estimate the possible difference in costs, the expert gave an example of an apartment with an area of ​​50 square meters - its major renovation now costs 110 thousand rubles per “square” or 5.5 million rubles for the entire area.

Under an optimistic scenario, next year repairs will rise in price by 5 percent - then the amount will increase to 5.78 million rubles, and additional costs above the estimate can reach 275 thousand rubles. If prices rise by 10 percent, repairs will cost 6.05 million rubles, and additional costs will cost 550 thousand rubles. If prices increase by 20 percent, you will have to pay 6.6 million rubles for repairs and overpay 1.1 million rubles.
