The average insurance pension in Russia in 2027 may exceed 29 thousand rubles

The average old-age insurance pension in Russia in 2027 may exceed 29 thousand rubles, Alexander Safonov, a professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, told RIA Novosti.

“According to the current parameters of the Social Fund budget and long-term forecasts of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation, the average annual old-age insurance pension in 2027 will be 29,088.66 rubles,” Safonov said.

He clarified that in 2027, insurance pensions are planned to be indexed in two stages: from February 1 by 4%, taking into account the projected inflation for the previous year, and from April 1 by another 3.4% due to the growth of Social Fund budget revenues. The increase for the year will result in about 7.5%.

According to Safonov, the size of the insurance pension depends on the number of accumulated pension points and the amount of the fixed payment. The total payment amount for each pensioner will be calculated individually.

As the specialist noted, in February 2027 the fixed payment to the insurance pension will increase to 9,968.08 rubles. The cost of the pension point will be indexed first in February and will increase to 163.03 rubles, and then in April - to 168.57 rubles.
