Four Hong Kong universities rank among the top 50 in the QS World University Rankings 2027

China News Service, Hong Kong, June 18th. The international higher education research institution Quacquarelli Symonds ("QS") announced the 2027 QS World University Rankings on the 18th. The University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University were among the top 50 in the world. The Chinese University of Hong Kong jumped from 32nd to 18th in the world, ranking among the top 20 in the world for the first time.

Among the above-mentioned universities, the University of Hong Kong ranks 11th in the world; the Chinese University of Hong Kong jumps 14 places to 18th; the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology jumps 11 places to 33rd; and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University jumps 4 places to 50th, ranking among the top 50 in the world for the first time. In addition, City University of Hong Kong ranked 52nd, Hong Kong Baptist University ranked 216th, the Education University of Hong Kong rose 124 places to 406th, and Lingnan University of Hong Kong rose to 581st.

A spokesman for the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government said that these achievements fully affirm the SAR government's firm investment in education and fully support the effectiveness of the policy of continuous innovation, optimization, expansion and quality improvement of institutions, and further confirm the strong attractiveness of Hong Kong as a gathering place for international high-end talents.

The QS World University Rankings are considered one of the most watched university rankings. The rankings evaluate the performance of more than 1,500 universities from 106 countries and regions. The ranking evaluates universities based on nine indicators, including academic reputation, scientific research influence, teaching environment, international participation, graduate employment and sustainable development.
