Alice Weidel called for the return of Ukrainian refugees and the end of aid to Kyiv

BERLIN, September 13 - RIA Novosti. Co-chair of the opposition party Alternative for Germany (AfD) Alice Weidel advocated the return of Ukrainian refugees to their homeland and payment of financial compensation to Berlin for the support provided to Kyiv.

“These Ukrainians must return, first of all, young Ukrainian men liable for military service,” Weidel said in an interview with the YouTube channel AUF1.

The politician called “incomprehensible” the fact that the German authorities continue to support more than one million Ukrainian citizens receiving basic social benefits from budget funds. According to her, for the German side this is an unbearable burden that “can no longer be financed.”

Following this, Weidel assured that if the AfD comes to power, it will completely stop providing military and financial assistance to Kyiv, and will also demand the return of funds already spent.

“We will stop payments to Ukraine and any military support, and will also put forward significant financial demands on Ukraine for the return of funds,” the party co-chairman concluded.

The Bundestag completed on Friday its consideration in the first reading of the draft federal budget for 2027, which provides, among other things, for the allocation of 11.6 billion euros to support Kyiv.
