The Moscow City Court sentenced Aslan Khagundokov to 24 years in prison for the murder of an FSS employee

The Moscow City Court sentenced previously convicted 49-year-old Aslan Khagundokov to 24 years in prison for a massacre in the center of the capital committed in 2012. The Moscow prosecutor's office reported this to Lenta.ru.

We are talking about Oleg Gvozdev, an employee of the Social Insurance Fund (FSS), stabbed in the heart, who was found without signs of life in the courtyard of a house on Sadovaya-Spasskaya Street.

The verdict was made on the basis of a guilty verdict by a panel of jurors who found Aslan Khagundokov, a native of Kabardino-Balkaria, guilty of committing a crime.

The court found that he and an accomplice arrived at the victim’s place of work in the evening of November 2012. Having waited for him, the killers followed him to his house, attacked him there, stabbed him, and then fled.

33-year-old Gvozdev, who held the position of head of the department for organizing the placement of orders for state needs of the FSS, was associated with the gambling business in the Moscow region together with Ivan Nazarov, whose establishments were under the “roof” of the prosecutor’s office, but a number of criminal cases did not end in anything.

The convict's lawyer pointed out that there was no direct evidence in the case of his client's guilt and motive for the crime.

Khagundokov was brought into the case of the massacre of Gvozdev while he was serving a 13-year sentence for another crime, the victim of which was Rostov businessman Pyotr Arzhanik. He was found with a gunshot wound in a garage on April 21, 2014. The investigation there also did not establish a motive.

In 2025, Khagundokov was acquitted in the case of the massacre of Gvozdev, but the prosecutor’s office managed to overturn the verdict and reconsider the case.
