Yuri Ushakov: only the head of the Brazilian Foreign Ministry mentioned Ukraine at the BRICS summit in India

During the BRICS summit meeting in India, only Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira mentioned Ukraine in his speech.

Most of the meeting was held in a format closed to the media.

MOSCOW, September 13 - RIA Novosti. Assistant to the Russian President Yuri Ushakov said that during the BRICS summit meeting in India, only Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira mentioned Ukraine in his speech.

The BRICS summit meeting was held in New Delhi on September 12. Most of the meeting was held in a format closed to the media.

“Yesterday I noticed that during the speech of the leaders at the summit, only one, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, mentioned Ukraine, the other leaders simply bypassed this,” Ushakov told Channel One.

The assistant to the President of the Russian Federation noted that this indicates an understanding of Russia’s position on the part of the BRICS countries. Ushakov emphasized that all the explanations on Moscow’s position in the Ukrainian conflict that Russian head of state Vladimir Putin gives at meetings with BRICS colleagues also “go into the piggy bank” of understanding the situation.

Earlier, the leaders of the BRICS countries adopted the final declaration of the summit in New Delhi. The document does not contain any mention of Ukraine or the Ukrainian conflict.
