J.D. Vance allowed for an improvement in US-Iran relations as Tehran changes course

WASHINGTON, September 29 - RIA Novosti. A significant improvement in bilateral relations is possible between the United States and Iran if Tehran changes its course towards Washington and demonstrates this in practice, said US Vice President J.D. Vance.

"If the Iranians change their behavior towards the United States, then yes, there will be an opportunity for a much better relationship. But we have to actually see a change in their behavior," Vance said in an interview with Rumble.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Tehran handed over to the American side a seven-day plan for opening the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for lifting the naval blockade and restrictions on oil exports. However, US President Donald Trump rejected this proposal. At the same time, the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry noted on Sunday night that Iran is waiting for a final answer from the mediators, despite Trump’s statement.
