The suspect in the murder of an elderly woman in Isumi City withdrew approximately 28 million yen from her eldest daughter's account. It is also suspected that the money was used as a tip.

On the 13th, it was learned through interviews with investigators that approximately 28 million yen in savings had been withdrawn from an account in her mother's name that was managed by Hideko Ishigami (54), the eldest daughter of the woman arrested on suspicion of murder in the August 2024 murder of an elderly woman in a house in Isumi City, Chiba Prefecture, over a period of several months.

Ishigami reportedly denies the charges, saying, ``I did not kill my mother.''

According to people involved in the investigation, prefectural police believe that Ishigami withdrew money from the account between June and August 2014. It is believed that the funds may have been used to "tip money" to video distributors, and we are carefully investigating whether the money is related to the incident.

According to the investigation headquarters, Ishigami is suspected of strangling Shizuko (age 89 at the time), a mother who lived alone, to death by some means at her residence in Isumi City on August 5, 2014, between around 2:00 p.m. and around 4:40 p.m.

The incident was discovered on the evening of August 6, 2024, when a security guard visited Shizuko's home to check on her safety and found a dead body in her second-floor bedroom. An autopsy revealed the cause of death was asphyxiation due to neck compression.

According to investigators, prefectural police narrowed down the estimated time of death by analyzing security camera footage and the contents of the victim's stomach, and compared it with the time Ishigami was at the scene. It was also confirmed that there were no signs of intrusion by a third party, leading to the arrest.
