Kawaguchi City care manager murder case, suspect remains dead and sent to prosecutors

In June, in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, a female care manager (63 years old at the time) was stabbed to death at a residence she was visiting.The prefectural police announced on the 20th that they have sent documents to the Saitama District Public Prosecutors Office on suspicion of murder of an unemployed man (60 years old at the time) who lived in the house.

According to the announcement, the man is suspected of killing a female nursing care support specialist by stabbing her in the neck with a kitchen knife on the afternoon of June 1st at her home in Kawaguchi City. The cause of death was said to be blood loss.

Prefectural police became aware of the incident when the man called 110 at around 3pm on the 1st, complaining that he had ``cut the care manager's neck.'' According to Kawaguchi Police Station, when the man made the call, he said, ``I wanted to kill myself because I was scammed out of money,'' but he then cut himself in the neck and died. The investigation revealed no financial trouble, and prefectural police believe it was a one-sided misunderstanding on the part of the man.

According to police, the man was living with his mother, who was in her 90s, at the time. The woman was in charge of supporting the mother and had come to accompany the doctor on a home visit that day.
