British Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced his readiness to go “all the way” and propose the country’s return to the European Union (EU). Standard reports this.

“We could stay as we are. It's definitely an option if people decide it's a good place to live," the politician said. He said he didn't want to leave the issue "up in the air" and was determined to be clear about "where we want to take Britain in the next decade."

Asked whether he wanted the UK to return to the EU, Burnham said he wanted to “look at all options”. “We could listen to what [former Conservative Chancellor of the Exchequer] George Osborne said about the customs union, what the Lib Dems said at their conference about the single market, or go all the way,” he added.

The Prime Minister, who blames Brexit for a decade of division and disunity, stressed there was a need to look at “what is feasible and the pros and cons of each option.”

Earlier, member of the British Parliament Hamish Falconer, who is responsible for relations with the EU in the government, said that the UK intends to expand cooperation with the European Union in the services sector. According to Falconer, London is interested in deeper and longer-term relations with the European Union.

He noted that within the framework of cooperation between the UK and the EU, a visa-free regime could be established for Britons working in Europe, as well as mutual recognition of qualifications. At the same time, the deputy emphasized that the negotiations will take into account the “red lines” of the Labor Party on European policy.
