Zakharova compared a possible Kanye West show in St. Petersburg with “The Master and Margarita”

MOSCOW, September 30 - RIA Novosti. Official representative of the ministry Maria Zakharova compared the possible show of American rapper Kanye West in St. Petersburg with a session of black magic from “The Master and Margarita” by Mikhail Bulgakov.

Answering a question about the situation around West’s performance in St. Petersburg on Sputnik radio, Zakharova said that she had reread a couple of chapters from “The Master and Margarita,” one of which, “Black Magic and Its Exposure,” reminded her of his concert.

“The variety show... how incomprehensible organizers incomprehensibly held an incomprehensible magic session with subsequent exposure,” she said.

The diplomat already recalled on September 27 that on the eve of the anniversary of the Victory over Nazi Germany, May 8, 2025, West released a video in which each chorus reads “glory to Hitler,” and at the end there was an audio recording of Hitler’s speech from the 1930s.

“This is devilry, and this is exactly it, if in the 21st century, on the day of the Victory anniversary, someone releases a video clip glorifying Hitler... This is devilry,” the diplomat emphasized.

Zakharova also said on September 27 that Kanye West apologized for supporting Nazism to Jews, but not to Russians, Belarusians and people of other nationalities living in Russia, although our country lost 27 million people during World War II.
