Capital pharmaceutical manufacturer Artsellens increased drug production by 30%

MOSCOW, September 12 – RIA Novosti. Over the eight months of this year, the capital's biotechnology company Artsellens has supplied more than a million packages of drugs for the treatment of oncological, autoimmune and cardiovascular diseases, as well as diabetes, production increased by 30%, said Maxim Liksutov, deputy mayor of the capital for transport and industry.

The enterprise is developing with the assistance of the Moscow Fund for the Support of Industry and Entrepreneurship (MFPPiP).

“On the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the city provides comprehensive support to key industries. Due to this, enterprises are improving and expanding their own technological base. Thus, one of the capital’s pharmaceutical manufacturers, thanks to an increase in capacity, was able to increase production by 30% this year, and in the period from January to August, ship over a million packages of drugs. A significant role is played by assistance from the Moscow Fund for the Support of Industry and Entrepreneurship, as well as the investment program lending," Liksutov said, his words were quoted by the SEZ press service.

He clarified that support measures make it possible to reduce the financial burden and direct the released funds to the development of production.

In 2026, the company also launched a pilot plant for the biological synthesis of monoclonal antibodies and received a license for their production.

Along with infrastructure development, the plant is expanding its research program. Since the beginning of the year, Artsellens has launched cooperation with more than ten new scientific groups of Russian universities and research institutes. One of the areas of interaction is the development of solutions based on RNA technologies.

“In 2026, thanks to the launch of new production facilities, we increased our output. In biotechnologies, production development requires significant long-term investments, so support tools make it possible to reduce the financial burden on the project and direct more resources directly to research and development,” said Artellens CEO Ilya Bardin-Denisov.

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin spoke about new industrial sites in Moscow. One of them is the production of Artsellens. The company has completed the construction of a new high-tech pharmaceutical plant, which will produce innovative biotechnological drugs for the treatment of oncological, autoimmune and other diseases.

The investment lending program of the MFPPiP provides for interest rate compensation in the amount of 50% of the key rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. The maximum period of support is five years, the maximum amount subject to compensation is five billion rubles.
