Spencer revealed in his new book that on the day of Princess Diana's funeral in September 1997, 12-year-old Harry, with his 15-year-old brother Prince William, then-Crown Prince Charles (King Charles III), and uncle Spencer, walked behind Princess Diana's coffin and headed to Westminster Abbey for the funeral in front of millions of viewers around the world. After the funeral, the coffin was sent to the Spencer family's Althorp estate in Northamptonshire for burial. While riding in the hearse that day, he noticed that Harry, who had just experienced the pain of losing his mother, did not seem to receive enough comfort.
