Kaohsiung City's "Baipu Industrial Park" held a groundbreaking ceremony on the 21st. The Ministry of Interior stated that the Baipu Industrial Park is Taiwan's first industrial park with advanced packaging as its core, and is also an important node in the southern semiconductor S corridor.

President Lai Qingde said that the Baipu Park covers an area of ​​nearly 89 hectares and is expected to create an annual output value of approximately 300 billion yuan and more than 4,000 job opportunities. Since the application for establishment in 2023, the Gao City Government team has successfully completed the environmental impact assessment, urban plan review, Ministry of Economic Affairs approval and developer selection in just three years, and has simultaneously promoted investment promotion. Even before the park has even started, manufacturers have taken the lead in laying out the layout. This is the "tight tightness" that Kaohsiung people are proud of. As the country's first "semiconductor advanced equipment and material verification base", this park not only shortens the time for introducing new technologies into mass production, but also completes the most critical puzzle piece of the southern semiconductor ecosystem, taking an extremely important step towards balancing Taiwan.

The Ministry of the Interior stated that in addition to actively assisting the Kaohsiung City Government in completing urban plan changes and related construction plans, it will also cooperate with the park to build a comprehensive external transportation system, accelerate the development of the third phase of Kaohsiung New Town, and create a high-quality development environment for industries.

The Ministry of Interior stated that the Baipu Industrial Park covers an area of ​​approximately 88.73 hectares, of which the dedicated industrial zone is approximately 53.63 hectares. In the future, it will focus on the development of advanced semiconductor packaging materials, equipment and related supply chains, and connect existing industrial clusters such as Nanzi, Renwu, and Qiaotou to expand the benefits of the southern semiconductor industry chain. Especially in the future, when major manufacturers such as TSMC, ASE, and Hon Hai enter the park, it can become the core engine for industrial upgrading and high-quality employment in northern Kaohsiung.
