The Hualien County Health Bureau invited 42 medical workers and medical personnel to write 44 articles after the disaster, which were compiled into a new book "Love in Light, Revitalizing Homeland - Matai'an River Flood Disaster" "Medical Documentary" returned to the disaster area to publish a new book. Editor-in-chief Zhu Jiaxiang said that he hopes to record the desirable parts of the entire disaster relief process. The new book was released today at the Taitang Hualien Sugar Factory in Guangfu Township. Zhu Jiaxiang said that the most touching thing about the whole process last year was that the health clinic itself was a disaster-stricken household, but it still acted as a front-line disaster medical team. Guangfu, Ruisui, Yuli, and Zhuoxi health clinics were stationed in the disaster area to take care of the victims. The doctors at the health clinic who were most familiar with the patients understood the condition of each patient. Seeing the doctors they knew appeared, the victims felt at ease.

Zhu Jiaxiang said that before the disaster occurred, Guangfu and Ruisui Township Health Centers formed an advance team of disaster medical rescue teams and set up emergency medical stations at sugar factories. Hualien hospitals also set up emergency medical stations in the disaster areas. In response to traffic interruptions, 5G telemedicine was introduced, and the Pharmacists Association used drones to deliver medicines, making technology a bridge for medical care. The follow-up includes case tracking, shelter care, epidemic prevention and cleaning, etc., and the practical experience is compiled to prevent panic in future extreme climate disasters.

Lin Chunxiao, director of the Guangfu Township Health Center, said that when the disaster occurred, the first medical station was busy until the next morning, rescuing more than 100 injured people. However, in addition to emergency medical treatment after the disaster, it also included long-term physical and spiritual companionship. A grandma in her 90s was soaking in muddy water at home.
