Jiang Yijie, a social worker supervisor of the Taipei City Social Affairs Bureau, was suspected of embezzling more than 12 million yuan from five warded elders within one year of his employment. Prosecutors searched his residence yesterday, and a large number of exquisite products were also exposed. More than 10 famous brand bags such as Hermès, Chanel, and LV were placed on the table, as well as Cartier watches and rings, with a rough estimate of the total price exceeding one million yuan. When Jiang was transferred to the Taipei District Prosecutor's Office for retrial, she confessed to the crime. The Taipei District Court now admitted that she was involved in a felony of corruption and was in danger of fleeing, and ruled that her detention was prohibited.

According to the prosecutor's investigation, Jiang Nu was originally the social worker supervisor of the Bei City Social Affairs Bureau, responsible for the placement and property management of the elderly who were declared guardianships in Wenshan District. However, she took advantage of her position of keeping passbooks, seals and handling property. From May last year to the end of June this year, she successively misappropriated the property of five elderly people, totaling more than 12 million yuan. It was not until Jiang Nu resigned and transferred to the New Taipei City Government that the New Taipei City Social Affairs Bureau handled the business handover and inventoried the property of the case, when they discovered the abnormality in the accounts and called the police.

Prosecutor Zheng Yafang of the Black Money Section of the Beijing Procuratorate yesterday directed the Xinyi Police Division to search Jiang's residence and arrest her. Jiang confessed to the crime during the retrial. The prosecutor determined that she was involved in serious crimes such as "taking advantage of her position to embezzle property held in her position" under the Corruption Crime Regulations, and requested the court to impose a ban on her. After the court session this afternoon, the North Court recognized that she was in danger of fleeing and ruled that she should be detained and banned.
