Jeju Island continues to experience damage from wind and rain amid heavy rain and strong wind warnings

On Jeju Island, where a heavy rain and strong wind warning was issued on the 26th, damage due to wind and rain continued.

According to the Jeju Island Fire and Safety Headquarters, as of 9:30 a.m. on this day, a total of 13 reports of damage related to heavy rain and strong winds were received.

At 7:55 a.m., a woman in her 20s fell in the rain in Ido 2-dong, Jeju City, injured her back, and was taken to the hospital.

At 7:59 a.m., a telephone pole collapsed in Jocheon-eup, Jeju City, and a street tree broke in Hagwi-ri, Aewol-eup.

At 8:23 a.m., a telephone pole fell and hit the roof of a building in Geonip-dong, Jeju City, and at 8:43 a.m., an accident occurred in Udo where a telephone pole fell due to strong winds.

As of 10 a.m. on this day, the Korea Meteorological Administration expanded a heavy rain warning to the entire Jeju Island, excluding the western part of Seogwipo City and Chuja Island, and issued a heavy rain warning for the mountainous and mid-mountainous areas of Jeju Island at 11 a.m.

A strong wind advisory is in effect throughout the province, excluding the southern part of Seogwipo City and Chuja Island.

As of 10 a.m., mainly in the area south of Hallasan Mountain, there are places with 10 to 20 mm of rain falling per hour, and strong winds of around 20 meters per second are blowing in some areas.

As of 10 a.m., daily precipitation at major locations is 82 mm in Chujado Island, 61.5 mm in the southern wall of Hallasan Mountain, 55 mm in the azalea field, 51.5 mm in Yeongsil, 49 mm in Samgakbong Peak, 48.5 mm in Witse Oreum, 46.5 mm in Hannam, and 45 mm in Yusuam.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, rain is expected to fall at around 30 mm per hour, mainly in areas where a heavy rain warning is in effect, until this morning.

There may be places where the wind blows very strongly, with instantaneous wind speeds exceeding 20 meters per second, until daytime.
