The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the Ukrainian special services threatened residents of Donbass and Novorossiya with criminal liability for participating in elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, and more than 70 buildings of precinct and territorial election commissions were damaged by strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“Why do I say that this campaign was the most difficult for me personally and for my colleagues - not only physically, but also morally - because there is a constant feeling of responsibility for my colleagues. Because I, like no one else, know the conditions under which they have to hold elections. But it was their conscious choice,” Pamfilova told Vesti.

PEC member Olga Demyanenko died from a drone attack in the Kherson region, PEC chairwoman Elena Astanina died in the Zaporozhye region, and PEC chairwoman Natalya Sinitsyna died in the LPR due to a deliberate attack on a car. In the Belgorod region, secretary Elena Kaltykova, as well as PEC members Elena Fomenko and Sergei Smorodinov, died due to attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On September 25, the Central Election Commission of Russia observed a minute of silence for members of precinct election commissions who died due to attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Pamfilova, at a briefing at the Central Election Commission on September 19, publicly noted that election officials sacrificed their lives so that voters had the opportunity to fulfill their civic duty and vote in elections.

The Kremlin called the attacks from Ukraine sabotage and an attempt to disrupt the elections. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the Ukrainian special services publicly threatened residents of Donbass and Novorossiya with criminal liability for participating in the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

In total, more than 70 buildings of precinct and territorial election commissions were damaged by the Ukrainian Armed Forces' strikes, she added. Over the past week, as a result of the criminal actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 41 people were killed, including four children, and 338 citizens were injured, including 18 minors. The largest number of victims was in the DPR, LPR, Belgorod, Zaporozhye, Kherson, Moscow and Rostov regions.
