[Reporter Wu Mengru/Report from Taipei] The Archery Association recently posted on social media that because funds have not yet been approved, competitors in the Asian Cup, Asian Youth and other events may have to temporarily pay for their own expenses. In response, the Ministry of Sports also issued a statement today saying, "For plans approved after review, part of the funds will be pre-allocated in accordance with relevant procedures to ensure that training and competition work can continue to be promoted."

The Archery Association issued a document for the first time on October 6, "It has written to the Ministry of Sports on September 16 to request the funds for the potential elite program to be allocated as soon as possible. Since the funds have not yet been determined, it may affect the registration process for the 2026 Asian Cup Archery (Hangzhou Station)" and the 2026 Asian Youth/Youth Archery Championships. The subsequent announcement of whether to participate will be based on the funding approval status." Until today, it issued another document. , informed the players with an "urgent notice", "Because the funds for the 115 Years of Potential Talents have not yet been approved, in order to protect the right to participate, coaches and players who meet the qualifications for the third leg of the 2026 Asian Cup and the 2026 Asian Youth/Asian Youth will temporarily participate at their own expense. Due to the tight registration time, please respond to the international team of our association before October 15th to respond to your willingness to participate to facilitate subsequent registration."

In this regard, the Ministry of Sports also issued a statement, "Regarding the Archery Association's 2015 plan to cultivate outstanding or potential athletes, the Ministry sent a letter to the Association in September 2014 to submit the plan before November 30, and notified the Association in January 2015 that athletes who meet the Gold Plan level 5 and 6 will be included in the training plan of the plan."

As for why there is a funding problem? The Sports Department explained, "After repeatedly explaining the relevant work preparation procedures to the association, after receiving the plan submitted by the association in late May, the preliminary review and preliminary verification of funds were carried out in accordance with the procedures. During this period, because there were still some contents and funding arrangements in the submitted materials that needed to be supplemented or revised, the department successively asked the association to make corrections. After the association submitted the information, a task force meeting was held in July for review. Follow-up According to the review conclusion and relevant regulations, the association is requested to revise the plan content and supplement relevant information. However, some of the revised information submitted by the association still do not meet the requirements, and it must continue to be requested to provide additional explanations and adjust the funding arrangement. The review, revision, and return of official documents all take time. The review and funding accounting have now been completed in September, and the final approval process has now entered. "

The Sports Department finally pointed out, "Considering the training and competition needs of athletes, for plans that have been reviewed and approved, the Department will pre-allocate part of the funds in accordance with relevant procedures to ensure that training and competition work can continue to be promoted."
